Meet the Maker

Hi there! I’m Leanne- the artist, metalsmith & photographer of Alpenglow Jewelry.

I moved to Bend, Oregon in 2012 from the Jersey shore.

After I discovered I loved making art in college in Vermont, I quickly went on the pursuit to learn how to make jewelry. I apprenticed for a goldsmith and after working in the trade for a few years I branched off on my own to create my vision. This transition was scary but ultimately I knew I had to trust myself to try.

As a climber and hiker, my artwork is inspired by my high desert home and travels. I strive to use northwest jaspers, turquoise from the southwestern region, and recycled metals. I curate from the best quality of ethically sourced gemstones and metals, and craft them into pieces of art for you.

As I have settled in Bend, Oregon with my pups, Otto & Zeya and my wonderful husband Scott, my handcrafted jewelry designs feature natural stones, unique landscapes & details. In 2021 we even started hand-cutting some of our own stones! Check these out on @alpenglow_lapidary. Some of these stones are handcrafted into my jewelry designs creating a full circle of hand cut + polished stones, handcrafted into jewelry. In general, I love creating functional and versatile jewelry with being as gentle to the earth as possible. All of your jewelry pieces are shipped in compostable mailers, with recyclable jewelry boxes and repurposed paper.

Thanks for shopping with me- I truly appreciate your business & support of my craft. This one-woman show wouldn’t be where it is today without you, and for that, I am forever grateful.

With Love,

Leanne
